MONOLITH SERIES
Here lies a Monolith to Urban Construction.
May it Rest in Pieces.
Our insatiable desire for urbanized living shows no signs of stopping. Yet our cities and mega cities are built on an increasingly delicate deck of cards. Oil, Energy, Materials, Water and useable Land, these are its essential complex commodities.
By mimicking the materials and structures of our cites using pvc boards and off cuts of discarded industrial textiles, I am presenting the viewer with an unending stretch and sprawl of these abstract manmade habitats, like totems of a possible future devoid of consideration for nature.
